Bill Nichelson was born and raised in Girard, Illinois. He is a 1989 graduate of Girard High School and a 1993 graduate of Millikin University. In 1996, he graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
Mr. Nichelson began practicing law in 1996 and has been in private practice since that time. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Nichelson served as a 711 intern for the Macoupin County State’s Attorney’s Office, and he was employed as a contractual attorney for the State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor Office in Springfield, Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Macoupin County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois as well as the United States District Courts of Central and Southern Illinois. He has lectured on various estate planning, probate and elder law topics, and has had work published by the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services.
Because he was raised in a small town, Mr. Nichelson and his staff, understand and appreciate the value of customer service. All of Mr. Nichelson’s clients are important to him, and he strives to develop a personal and trusting relationship with each one. Unlike some large law firms, Mr. Nichelson personally handles each of his client’s files from beginning to end. When clients call his office, they will speak directly with Mr. Nichelson, and during client meetings, they will meet personally with him.
Mr. Nichelson resides in Girard, Illinois with his wife, Jennie and daughters Emily and Ashley.
Wendy moved to Illinois from Colorado in 2005. After 20 years of working in the banking industry, she was ready for a physical and professional change in scenery. Wendy has worked at Nichelson Law for 10 years and is the office manager who oversees the daily operations and is also the person who greets clients when they visit. She enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of the office but still finds the work both challenging and satisfying as she strives to give accurate and helpful information to clients. Wendy resides in Virden with her husband Mark.
Lynne was born and raised in the small community of Mt. Olive, Illinois. After working as a chiropractic assistant for 20 years, she wanted a career change and came to work at Nichelson Law in 1998. Lynne took a brief retirement in 2009 to assist with family medical issues, but rejoined the office in 2011. Her main duties include preparing documents, speaking with clients, scheduling appointments, bookkeeping, and making house and hospital visits if necessary to obtain signatures.
Lynne enjoys working at Nichelson Law because it feels like home. She appreciates the honesty of her boss and loves assisting clients with their legal needs—especially those in the senior community. She feels it is rewarding when a client leaves the office feeling good and secure knowing they can put their trust in us.
